Douglas County deputies believe they've solved a series of burglaries that goes back four years.
Deputies say a Valley man had tens of thousands of dollars worth of motorcycle parts, custom helmets, riding gear, and car rims stolen from his property between January 201 and April of this year. On Tuesday, the victim contacted deputies after finding some of his stolen helmets for sale on Craigslist. They used the phone number listed on the ad to find the suspect, 28 year old Andrew Nelson. When they went to his home, deputies say Nelson admitted to having the helmets, and told them he had moved the stolen items to a rented storage unit in Arlington. Douglas and Washington County deputies conducted a search of the unit and recovered the items.
Nelson was arrested and booked by Washington County deputies for Felony Theft by Receiving.
