OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - The Nebraska Humane Society says a rottweiler was fatally shot during a biting incident on Sunday.

Officers with the Nebraska Humane Society say they responded to a home in the 2500 block of Mary Street and found an 8-year-old girl with injuries to her arm.

According to the Nebraska Humane Society, the rottweiler was fatally shot on the property by another resident of the home.

The dog's owner, Amy Hughes of Omaha, was cited for not restraining the dog. The dog was loose at the time of the incident, according to the Nebraska Humane Society.
