OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - The Douglas County Attorney's Office says the death of Calvin Strong has been determined to be a justifiable homicide.

Omaha Police were called to the area of 25th and Leavenworth for an assault in the overnight hours of May 29, 2020.

Authorities say Strong broke down the dead bolted door of another resident, 39-year-old Charles Turner, and assaulted him. At some point during the incident, Turner was able to reverse position and put Strong in a choke hold and held him in that position until police arrived.

The county attorney's office says Turner indicated Strong was going to kill him and would have killed him had someone not intervened.

Strong was later pronounced dead at Nebraska Med.

Strong's toxicology report was positive for cannabinoids, ethanol and hallucinogens-phencyclidine PCP.
