Douglas County sees 2.1% weekly positivity drop

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — When comparing the week that ended on Saturday, the Douglas County Health Department (DCHD) said the COVID-19 positivity rate is 2.1% lower than the previous week.

The previous week had a positivity rate of 30.2% and the newest week on record had a positivity rate of 28.1%.

The DCHD reported 400 new cases of the virus bringing the county's total to 46,579 since the pandemic started in March.

The department reported no new deaths so that total remains at 399.

The number of residents who have recovered from COVID-19 is 23,491.

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department also made a report today:

  • Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) announced that 281 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Lancaster County today, bringing the community total to 20,043. The number of deaths in the community remains at 119.
