Two were arrested on drug charges early Wednesday morning after being spotted speeding near 42nd Street.
According to a release, officers attempted to stop the vehicle near 36th Street, but the vehicle continued eastbound before stopping in a parking lot. When the car was stopped, a deputy saw a black bag in the back of the vehicle, detected an odor of marijuana and searched the car.
The deputy found more than 14 pounds of marijuana and 4.5 pounds of cocaine. Maxwell Podgorski, 21, and Jamal Brown, 24, were booked on intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession with intent to deliver hash.
The pair was en route to Iowa from Colorado. Both are from Cedar Rapids.
