Council Bluffs PD says a man is dead after he struck several vehicles including a police vehicle on Harry Langdon Blvd. Saturday evening.

At around 7:51p.m., Council Bluffs officer was traveling to a dispatched radio call.

CBPD says the officer was on Harry Landon Blvd, stopped at the stop light at the intersection of Woodbury Ave.

A silver Taurus was traveling on Woodbury, approached the intersection and struck the officer’s vehicle, on the driver’s side.

Officials said the silver Taurus then fled northbound on Harry Langdon Blvd. at a high rate of speed. It appears that the driver lost control of his vehicle in the area of 16th Ave and Harry Langdon Blvd.

According to CBPD, The Taurus struck several vehicles in a business parking lot, located in the 1600 block of Harry Langdon Blvd.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Officials are investigating the accident and believe that speed and alcohol may be a factor in the collision.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 24-year-old Kyle Joseph Solomon.
