Omaha police say the driver of a dump truck has been charged with one count of misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide for a crash that occurred at 9 a.m. on July 22.

Traffic investigators say a Peterbilt dump truck driven by Ronald Nootz was going eastbound on West Maple Road. They say Nootz ran the red light at 171st Street and collided with the driver's side of a Mazda Tribute driven by 75-year-old Noel Lammers. Lammers, they say, had a green light when he was hit. He died on the scene.
