OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Sarpy County Election Commission says early voting applications will be mailed out beginning next week.

People who wish to vote in person will still be able to do so on Election Day (Nov. 3) but those who wish to vote by mail will need to fill out the application and return it to the commission by 6 p.m. on Oct. 23.

Sarpy says there are a number of options for submitting your application including:

  • Mail: Sarpy County Election Commission, 501 Olson Drive, Suite 4, Papillion NE 68046 • Fax: 402-593-5770
  • Email or text: Send a photo or scan of the signed application to earlyvote@sarpy.com
  • Drop box: The Sarpy County Election Commission has four secure drop boxes located across the county that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No postage is necessary when using the drop boxes: o 501 Olson Drive, Papillion (Election Commission parking lot) o 1248 Golden Gate Dr., Papillion (Sarpy County Courthouse Campus parking lot) o 1003 Lincoln Rd., Bellevue (Bellevue Public Library parking lot) o 215 Enterprise Dr., Gretna (McKinney's Food Center parking lot)

Early voting ballots will begin mailing on Sept. 28, when Nebraska law allows them to be sent.

Sarpy County Election Commissioner Michelle Andahl says the commission wants voters to have a number of options available.

“With current events in mind, I want to ensure that every voter can cast their ballot in the way that is best for them. I want voters to be aware of all voting options available to them, including voting at polling places, voting early in our office, or voting by mail from the comfort of their home,” said Michelle Andahl, Sarpy County Election Commissioner.
