OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - After months of being out of the classroom, Omaha Public Schools is opening their doors this week to elementary and middle school aged students.
It's an effort to slowly phase kids out of remote learning, and into in-person. The district started out the year in remote learning due to the pandemic, and is now shifting to the family 3/2 model.
Early childhood, elementary school and middle school students are among those who returned Monday.
High school students return under that same model on October 19.
According to the district's website, students with last names starting with A-K will attend in-person on Monday’s and Tuesday’s and L-Z will attend Thursday’s and Friday’s.
Students will alternate on Wednesday's. and learn from home when not in-person.
