To veterans and many others, the United States flag is much more than a piece of cloth and that is a lesson kids at Carriage Hill are learning every day thanks to custodian Glen Carroll.
The 'Be Kind Movement' is a school-wide thing. We just want everybody to be kind to each other and I thought how will I connect. The flag thing came down from me not wanting to take the flag down by myself every year. I go to the Kids Club, I recruited some kids, girls one day, boys the other day," he said. "I've taught them how to fold the flags and they seem to enjoy it."
Students said Carroll taught them to not let the flag touch the ground, to make sure the stars were on top but perhaps most importantly, he makes learning fun.
