OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Longtime state senator Ernie Chambers has been preaching the message of the black lives matter movement for decades, speaking about racial injustice and police brutality.
Wednesday evening, the polarizing politician from north Omaha spoke with protesters outside city hall for more than an hour.
Chambers is the longest-serving state senator in Nebraska history. He's also the only African American to have run for governor and U.S. Senate in Nebraska history.
Reporter Jon Kipper was there for more on his message.
