Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg made an appearance at Omaha's Heartland Pride Festival on Saturday.
Many social media users posted pictures of the Palo Alto billionaire in Omaha Saturday morning. Zuckerberg posted the visit to his own Facebook page.
It's part of his Community Summit initiative. Zuckerberg was in Iowa earlier this week. During a stop in Chicago, Zuckerberg said his social media platform is overhauling its mission and focusing on uniting the world.
"And the idea behind our new mission is to bring the world closer," he said in Chicago. "And the new formal mission statement is going to be, 'To give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.'"
Zuckerberg said the "Facebook Groups" feature helps fulfill the new mission. The groups connect strangers who share interests in order to build meaningful communities on the platform.
