ASHLAND, Neb. (KMTV) — The coronavirus quarantine enters day four.

Evening anchor Jennifer Griswold spoke with a family on Monday who says their son will spend his first birthday under quarantine at Camp Ashland on Tuesday.

Tyler Shepherd is originally from California. He's been in China for about three years, working as a teacher.

His wife, Yang Meng, is from there, and they have a little boy named Neal.

It's been quite the journey for them - first essentially locked down in a small town in China, then working to get a visa for Yang Meng. Then a long flight in a cargo plane with a few stops.

The family has meetings and screenings every day, but are able to go outside and say they've been very well taken care of.

They expect to get cake for Neal's birthday.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family with various costs. Visit the page here.
