A Douglas County jury has convicted a man who caused a drunk driving crash that left his daughter brain damaged.
Benjamin Thompson was found guilty of DUI, negligent child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, negligent child abuse, and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
Thompson hit another vehicle at 30th in Sorensen Parkway last October, and drove off. Police followed Thompson to Miller Park, where they found him dumping alcohol containers in a trash can. Three children were injured, including his 8 year old Kazlynn Thompson, who will likely never recover from her brain injury.
Thompson will be sentenced August 8th.
