OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — An Omaha man, whose toddler son shot a 1 1/2 year old in the face in 2017, is accused of committing separate gun crimes.

Mosell Gulley, 25, is at the Douglas County Jail and charged with discharging a firearm at a motor vehicle, and attempted robbery. Both are felonies.

He’s accused of trying to rob Fetts Motor City Center in April 2017 on Northwest Radial Highway. He also allegedly shot at a vehicle.

In 2017, Gulley’s son shot 18-month-old Malaya Buie in the face at her father Marquell Buie’s apartment. Buie and Gulley were smoking marijuana.

Buie served 1 1/2 years for felony child neglect, while Gulley wasn’t charged.

In the summer of 2019, Buie was charged with being a felon in possession of a gun. Court documents indicate the firearm was used in the crimes that Gulley allegedly committed in April 2017.

Gulley revoked his plea in Douglas County District Court because some police reports weren’t turned over to his defense attorney before he pleaded no contest to two felonies. Prosecutors could amend the charges since he initially faced numerous felonies in the case.
