OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A press release from the FBI Omaha field office says law enforcement officials are searching for an unknown male that is believed to have critical information regarding the identity of child victim in a sexual exploitation investigation.

The FBI is calling the unknown man John Doe 42.

Initial videos of John Doe 42 shown with a child were first reported by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in August of 2019. Data embedded in the video files indicated the files were produced in Oct. 2015, according to the FBI.

John Doe 42 is described by the FBI as a white male with gray hair wearing a red and black plaid shirt. He is heard speaking English in the videos.

Because of the age of the images, it's possible that John Doe 42's appearance has changed over the years.

Anyone with information should submit a tip here or call the FBI's toll-free tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).

No charges have been filed in the case and the pictured individual is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law, the FBI says.

The man is being sought as part of the FBI's FBI’s Operation Rescue Me and Endangered Child Alert Program initiatives.
