Officials say a family pet died in a Thursday morning house fire in Carter Lake.
Firefighters were called around 9:30 a.m. to a home at 1406 Mayper Drive in Carter Lake.
Sgt. Josh Driscool, a spokesperson with the Carter Lake Police Department, said a dog was killed in the fire. No other injuries were reported and damaged to the home was minimal.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
