One man is without a home after fire tore through it Tuesday evening.
Firefighters were called to the home near 40th and Ames just before 7 p.m.. When they arrived, smoke and flames were coming from the front of the house.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about 10 minutes, but not before it heavily damaged the first and second floors.
The single occupant safely escaped, and is receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
