OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Food Bank for the Heartland says it wants to help do what it can for furloughed workers.

The Food Bank is hosting a free mobile food pantry in Bellevue on Monday night. The event will take place at Chandler View Elementary near Chandler Road and South 25th Street.

People attending are asked to bring bags or boxes for the food they take.

More than 12 thousand pounds of food will be available - from spaghetti and tomato sauce, canned chicken, rice and other perishable items like fresh fruit.
