Tuesday night the Fremont city council approved the first of three readings on the annexation of the properties south of the city to make way for the Costco chicken processing plant.
It was an unanimous vote by the council after much public input from many residents of the area.
A representative from Costco gave a brief presentation on the project.
The council has two more readings with public input as well, if the next two are approved, the city said they will look into TIF financing to help move the project along.
