A young girl is making a major step in her recovery after she was critically injured in a car crash in southwest Omaha.  People are describing her recovery as incredible since she had to be put in a medically induced coma after the crash.

McKinley Blue, 4, leaves Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals on Wednesday afternoon.  She suffered a critical brain injury because of the crash at 172nd & Q Streets on May 11 when the vehicle she was riding in was rear-ended by a truck.

Doctors had to remove a part of her skull and was in a wheelchair when she started rehab.  Now she's dancing, singing, and playing once again.

Her big sister Miley, 10, was by her side through the rehab encouraging her to keep pushing to re-learn how to talk and other functions.

"It's just incredible and i just love how much she's recovered because i know i'm going to have my little sister back.  She loves me just so much and I love her just so much," Miley explained.

The Madonna staff presenting her with the "Spirit Award" for going above and beyond in her recovery and celebrated her 5th birthday which is on July 12.

McKinley does have more therapy to do and will have to have surgery to repair her skull, but she's going to head to Kindergarten soon.

Her mother wanted to thank all the emergency responders, doctors, staff at Madonna, family, and friends for all their support.
