OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Girls Inc. officially cut the ribbon on its newest venture today, the Protege House. The Protege House will provide residential support and guidance to Girls Inc. alumnae, including those who age out of the foster care system at age 19.
The ribbon was cut at 10 a.m. today.
The project addresses current needs of Girls Inc such as:
- providing residential support and guidance for young women as they graduate high school and transition to adulthood
- Help young women ages 19-24 focus on educational and career goals while they are learning life skills and preparing to lead confident, self-sufficient lives
- Programming will include financial literacy, life skills, automotive upkeep, conflict resolution, reproductive health education, and dental care.
