OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — At the end of the day, Valentine’s Day is all about love.

However, show up empty-handed and your night might not go the way you planned.

"I like to get a warm bed for the night and not get locked outside,” said Mark Pitt, vice president of technology at Piccolo’s Florist.

When it comes to shopping for guys, the options are endless and narrowing it down can be a struggle.

Every year, GQ releases a list of 32 gifts every guy will love. For those wanting to spend a little more money, there’s a new zip up jacket, an oversized comfy tee or a nice pair of sunglasses.

For those on a budget, they suggest some new Calvin Klein briefs or even a rack of hot sauces to spice up things in the kitchen.

"I’ve already gotten mine. I have a gift card to Just Good Meat to buy steaks, so I thought that was kind of cool,” said Frank Piccolo, general manager at Piccolo’s Florist.

But what about the classic bouquet of flowers - are they too feminine?

"There are a lot of guys, including myself, that really, really love flowers, Pitt said.

Piccolo's Florist says they see people buying flowers for men all the time.

"Roses still symbolize the love and the friendship,” Piccolo said.

If it's not roses, Piccolo says tropical flowers have a more masculine feel with harder lines. They can also create a bouquet specifically geared to that special guy.

"Meaning they'll bring in things that add to a bouquet if the guy is a big fisherman or hunter. We do that type of stuff all the time and we are seeing more and more of that simply because I think it's personalizing things a little more,” Piccolo said.

They add whether it's a new watch, coat or a box of chocolates, flowers set the mood for Valentine’s Day.

"Still you get the effect when you go into a guy’s office or a girl’s office... there is still that, ‘Wow are they for me?’ The power of the flower is still incredible. It still takes me by surprise,” Pitt said.
