SARPY COUNT, Neb. (KMTV) -- — The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office wants to know if you're missing any tools or supplies from homes under construction. They want to get the stolen items back to their owners.

Brett Nelson, 38, is arrested on 8 counts of felony burglary and is in the Sarpy County Jail.

Investigators say Nelson stole hundreds of items worth tens of thousands of dollars from homes being built in Southwest Omaha.

They seized drills, saws, ladders, light fixtures, appliances and more from nelson's home and a storage unit.

“The amount of property that's been taken from hard working people that really is preventing them from doing their jobs. It's delaying the homes from being completed where the new homeowners want to get in their houses it's affecting them as well,” said Sgt. Jonathan Raughton with the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office.

Many of the items don't have identifying marks or could've been in Nelson's hands for months. They want contractors to get in touch if they've had anything stolen recently.

If you recognize anything that could be yours call the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office at 402-593-2304.
