Mayor Jean Stothert has won the election and will be elected to a second term as mayor of Omaha. As the votes were counted her lead over challenger Heath Mello grew with each round.  

With 100% of districts reporting Mayor Jean Stothert has won by a margin of 6,436 votes.  Stothert received 51,413 votes while Heath Mello recevied 44,977 votes.  

In the City Council race, Pete Festersen handily defeated Grant Sturek for District 1 while Ben Gray defeated Dennis Womack in District 2.  The District 3 race saw Chris Jerram defeat challenger D'Shawn Cunningham 81% to 19%.  The District 4 race was tighter with Vinny Palermo beating Jim Rogers 54% to 46%.   

It was no surprise that Rich Pahls won District 5 as he ran unopposed.  Brinker Harding defeated Dwite Pederson 64% to 36% winning a seat in District 6 and Aimee Melton won the race in District 7 defeating Brian Thommes.
