OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Influenza activity continues to decrease in Douglas County with only nine lab-confirmed cases reported in the last week.
Nineteen influenza cases were reported in the previous week. Outpatient and emergency department visits continue to decrease and less children have been absent from school due to illness.
A total of 3,861 lab-confirmed cases of influenza were reported this season (since Sept. 30, 2018).
Locally, influenza A has been the predominant strain circulating the area.
One pediatric death related to the flu was reported in Douglas County this season.
Seventeen adult deaths resulting from influenza have occurred in the area.
