OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A total of 269 confirmed cases of influenza were reported in Douglas County last week--32 less than the week before.
While Douglas County is experiencing a slight decrease in cases, activity remains high here and in most of the country.
According to a weekly report from the Douglas County Heath Department of Epidemiology, one additional adult death has been confirmed due to influenza. Eleven outbreaks in long-term care facilities have been reported.
The percentage of ER visits involving an influenza-like illness and children absent from school due to illness remains high; however, the percentage of outpatient visits were lower.
There have been 2,851 confirmed cases of influenza reported in Douglas County since September 30, 2018.
