One person killed in crash on 168th and Maple

UPDATE: (10:00am) OPD has identified the victim as 69-year-old Linda DeBolt. The truck driver was identified 52-year-old Thomas Falcone. Falcone was uninjured in this crash.

Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that occurred during the Wednesday morning drive.

Omaha Police officials say a female driver died in the crash. 

The accident took place at the intersection of 168th and Maple at around 5:15 am.

OPD officials said the driver of a pickup truck was driving southbound on 168th, when it collided with a minivan that  going eastbound on Maple. 

The woman who was driving the minivan was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries. 

OPD officials added that a third driver stayed on the scene to talk to authorities. 

The intersection is shut down in all directions.

The crash scene will be up through the morning drive. 

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use Dodge and Blondo as alternate routes.
