Original story:
Twenty-two year old Anthony Durand is missing from Lincoln's Community Corrections Center (CCC-L) after leaving the facility Monday to seek employment.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) says police were notified when Durand didn't return by 5 p.m.
He removed the electronic monitoring device he was wearing.
Durand is described as a 22-year-old black man, 6'1", 180 lbs with brown hair and blue eyes.
His three-year sentence began on Sept. 18, 2019 for charges out of Douglas County, including possession of methamphetamine, theft by unlawful taking and operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest.
CCC-L is one of two community custody facilities operated by NDCS, with community custody being the lowest level of custody and the least restrictive facility.
Inmates can participate in work opportunities and go to school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
Anyone who knows where Durand is should contact local authorities or the Nebraska State Patrol.
