A western Iowa man will spend a quarter-century behind bars for a deadly DUI crash.
26 year old Austin Arndt of Logan received the maximum sentence of 25 years in prison on Monday after pleading guilty to vehicular homicide while intoxicated earlier this month. 50 year old Charlotte Anderson died on July 4, 2015 after being hit by a vehicle while walking along Iowa Highway 127 on the north side of Logan. Family and friends told investigators they thought Anderson was walking from her home nearby to watch a band perform in downtown Logan when she was hit.
Prosecutors say Arndt told officers he had been at a bar and drank 15 to 17 beers within six hours before the crash.
