La Vista residents view design plans for Corridor 84 project

Posted

Developers hope their $175 million project along 84th Street will be the signature landmark of La Vista.

The Corridor 84 Streetscape Project is changing the whole appearance and land use between Harrison and Giles. The space used to be a Walmart and a golf course, but inside La Vista City Hall last night residents saw more of design plans and voted for features they like best.

"The biggest challenge right now is the lack of identity," Robb Berg of the Design Workshop said. "You don't really know when you're in or out of La Vista and so I think part of this project is bringing identity to the place."

The developers say solving problems like pedestrian safety, comfort and access to future retail development are major priorities.
