LaVista Police say they responded to the Alpine Village apartments around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday night.
Investigators police the suspect called them, alerting them to what had just happened.
Chief Bob Lausten says the suspect--whose name hasn't been released yet--called police and told them he'd shot a woman inside the home, then turned the gun on himself.
Both the suspect and victim are said to be in their 70s.
Chief Lausten tells us the victim died at the scene, and the suspect later died at the hospital.
Investigators are still working to make contact with family members, so the names of the victim and suspect haven't been released.
