Investigators in Lincoln are trying to find out how a dog was left to starve to death in an abandoned kennel.
The Lincoln Police Department shared the information about the investigation in a post on Facebook Monday.\
They say a young, female black lab was found dead inside the kennel discovered last week near 37th and South streets.
“We are looking for information that could lead to the owner of the dog and kennel,” police said, adding that evidence suggests the dog starved to death.
Investigators note the kennel had a Mizzou sticker on the front.
Anyone with information is asked to call Animal Control at 402-441-7900.
