Lincoln police are investigating a homicide after they say a man's body was found inside a trunk of a vehicle.
Police were called to a parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1000 block of North 23rd street for a disturbance shortly before 1:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release.
When officers arrived, they encountered multiple people at the scene.
Police say an SUV driven by a male fled the scene.
Another male at the scene did not comply with officer's requests to stop and ran off.
According to police, a physical struggled followed and the man then got into a Chevrolet Malibu and took off northbound through an apartment complex.
The vehicle stopped a short distance away.
The male subject exited the vehicle and took off on foot.
Police are working to identify both individuals.
Officers on scene located a Buick Park Avenue, which was left unoccupied with the engine running and the trunk unlatched where they found a man's body.
Investigators hope to learn more about the man's death with an autopsy.
The victim's name is not being released at this time.
