Lincoln officers involved in shooting identified

One Lincoln police officer remains in the hospital with a gunshot wound after a deadly officer-involved shooting on Sunday.

The Lincoln Police Department released the name of that officer and another who suffered facial injuries from the altercation with a suspect they say fired a gun at officers, forcing them to return fire.

Matthew Gilleland, a 23-year-old who has been with the department since last year, was shot in the right arm.

Angela Morehouse, 34, was treated and released for injuries sustained from being punched, police said. She has been with the Lincoln Police Department since 2012.

Morehouse and Gilleland were placed on administrative leave, along with a third yet-to-be identified officer, as an internal investigation is completed.

On Monday, authorities identified the suspect as 29-year-old Zachary Grigsby, of Central City.  They say he pulled a gun and fired at officers before he was fatally shot by another officer.
