SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KMTV) — Last week, Nebraska State Patrol Trooper Jerry Smith was killed while on duty. Today, Troopers and the public gathered in Scottsbluff to pay the 51-year-old father and husband tribute at his funeral services.
Hundreds of law enforcement officers from around the country were in attendance.
Smith was killed after a driver struck a car waiting to turn and veered into oncoming traffic, hitting Smith's Dodge Charger head-on.
