OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - — The owners of Generation Z Learning Center say they’ve been trying to contact the man who built their fence for more than a month.
Sharee Christian says Terence Bryant replaced their old metal fence, with a wooden one back in September.
She tells 3 News Now she paid about $1600 for Bryant to complete the job.
"He showed me pictures of his work so I trusted him,” Christian said. “He was very nice, he was very professional when he came, he was on time, [and] he seemed to know what he was doing,” Christain said.
But when it came time to fix the fence, Christian says Bryant was MIA.
"I thought oh no the fence isn't put up right, something's going on it's unstable, it needs to be reinforced,” she said.
Christian tells 3 News Now she contacted Bryant and she says he agreed to come fix it.
"I contacted him on Wednesday, he said he would come on a Friday to get it fixed and reinforce it but he never showed up,” Christian said.
Almost a month and half later, Christian says she still hasn’t heard from Bryant.
We spent the Tuesday trying to reach Bryant for comment.
He got back to us shortly before 8 p.m., and claims he fell on hard times so he couldn’t complete the work.
"I will contact her and get in contact with her and get this stuff--situation--taken care of as soon as I can,” Terence Bryant said.
“I understand that things happen and mistakes happen, but stand behind your work,” Christian said.
The Better Business Bureau recommends people do their homework before hiring someone.
"Just check out their work completely,” Christian said. “Make them give you pictures on top of pictures, make them provide references and things like that don't just trust what they say,” Christian said.
After talking with Bryant, he says he plans to call Christian to complete the job.
