A local Walmart is keeping up with demand for Patti LaBelle sweet potato pies, which became a hit after a man's video review of the pies went viral.
Employees at a Council Bluffs Walmart stocked the shelves Wednesday with the popular pies.
"We sold out. As soon as we put them out, the same day we sold out of them. Phone calls from people asking, 'Can you hold me some?' People wanting five or six at a time. So, yes, they sold out pretty fact," said Walmart Bakery Manager Kristy Brittain.
The retail giant says they had to find 2 milion pounds of sweet potatoes to fill its latest order for the pies. The pies will be in stock year-round.
