Man arrested after NSP seizes 50 pounds of marijuana at Amtrak train station

Nebraska State Patrol troopers arrested a man Friday at the train station after investigators found 50 pounds of marijuana in the cargo area of a passenger train, according to an NSP press release.

Sio Chong Leong, 40, faces charges of possession with intent to deliver, possession of greater than one pound of marijuana, and no drug tax stamp, the release states. He was being held in Douglas County Jail.

The drugs were found during routine operations, the release states. Investigators said they found two suspicious bags smelling of marijuana in the cargo area of a passenger train, the release states. After no one came to claim the bags, the investigators opened one of them and two large bundles of marijuana inside, the release states.

Investigators said identified and found the owner of the bags, and made an arrest, the release states.

The marijuana is estimated to have a street value of "well over" $100,000, the release states.
