Man arrested for carjacking victim in Council Bluffs

A man is in jail today for carjacking another man at gunpoint in Council Bluffs overnight. 

Council Bluffs police got the carjacking call just after midnight at the 3400 block of Avenue C. 

The victim told officers he had been approached by the suspect - Ahmed Ibar- who pointed at handgun at him and said "get out of the car or i'll shoot you."

While on the way to the call, police saw the stolen car speeding westbound on the I-480 bridge into Omaha. 

Omaha Police found Ibar and the stolen car a short while later at 24th street and Cuming. Ibar is in custody at Douglas County Jail and will be extradited back to Iowa.
