OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Two people are seriously injured after, according to police, one man purposefully caused a crash to harm himself.

At 9:10 am officers responded to the intersection of 24th and St. Marys Ave. for a personal injury crash. Upon arrival officers found both drivers suffering from serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers were transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center by ambulance.

Police say the driver of a gold Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on S 24th St and violated the red light at St. Marys Ave., colliding with a white Ford F-150 that was traveling westbound on St Marys Ave.

Police say the driver of the Toyota Camry, 26-year-old Dagoberto Reyes-Feliciano, was intentionally trying to cause a crash to harm himself. After being released from the hospital, he was arrested and booked into Douglas County Corrections for 2nd Degree Felony Assault.
