Man ID'd in deadly crash on 186th, State

Douglas County Sheriff's office has released new information concerning Friday's deadly crash. 

 

On 16 Dec 2016 at 6:14 PM, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office investigated a fatality accident near 186th and State St. A white 2007 Toyota Corolla driven by thirty-two year old Gary McGaha of Omaha was traveling east on State street when it left the roadway to the north and collided with a tree.

Upon arrival deputies found the vehicle to be fully engulfed by flames. After the fire was extinguished, deputies could not identify the driver or the make of the vehicle.

Upon further investigation a vehicle identification number (VIN) was located on the frame and confirmed the vehicle was owned by Gary McGaha, formerly of Arizona.

Dental records confirmed the victim’s identity. It is unknown as to why the vehicle left the roadway however icy conditions are most likely a contributing factor.
