Man injured in shooting overnight

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha Police are investigating a shooting that occurred overnight Sunday that injured a man.

At 3:42 a.m., officers responded to the area of N 24th and Grand Ave where they located evidence of gunfire.

A short time later, a victim arrived by private vehicle at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

The victim, 53-year-old Freddie Johnson, said he was waiting in his vehicle in the area of N 24th and Grand Ave when he heard gunshots, his window broke and he realized he was struck by gunfire.

Johnson drove himself to the hospital and had non-life threatening injuries.
