The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says a woman was driving northbound on 261st Street near Pacific in Waterloo around 6 p.m. tonight when she hit a man on his John Deere lawnmower in the road.
That man died on the scene. Deputies have identified him as 87-year-old Donald Fitzwater.
The woman was driving a Silverado and deputies say alcohol may have been in a factor on the part of the woman.
