A man was found dead Wednesday morning at a Sarpy County home and a woman taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Sarpy County Sheriff's office investigators were on scene at a home in the Lakewood Villages, just south of Highway 370 and 48th Street, after getting a call around 10:30 a.m. to check on the well being of the residents of the home. Upon arrival, investigators said, they found a 67-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the head in the basement of a home; and a 68-year-old man dead in the garage.
The woman was taken by the Papillion Fire Department to Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition.
Sarpy County Sheriff's deputies said they were not looking for suspects but that the investigation was ongoing.
Deputies and Douglas County crime lab personnel were still on scene just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, and no new information was expected to reported until Thursday.
