COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa. (KMTV) — A man was stabbed in the neck and cheek during an alleged altercation inside a home in Council Bluffs on Wednesday.
Officers with the Council Bluffs Police Department were dispatched to the area of N 20th and Ave C around 1:38 p.m. on a report of a stabbing.
The suspect, John D. Zardus, 34, immediately fled the area and was apprehended several blocks away without incident, according to CBPD.
Zardus was transported to Corrections and booked on attempted murder and willful injury charges.
Thirty-nine year old victim Jarod K. Mowery received medical treatment at Jennie Edmundson Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
