Police are looking for the man who robbed a Subway restaurant and attempted to rob a Valero gas station Friday afternoon.

The man went into the Subway on Center Street and demanded money from the cashier. Witnesses say he had his hand in his pocket as though he had a gun. The suspect took the money and may have gotten into the passenger side of a dark SUV.

Law enforcement says about 40 minutes later, a man wearing a ski mask went inside the Valero convenience store on Hamilton Street and demanded money.

The suspect fled when he didn't get any money.

Police believe the same man is responsible for both incidents. The suspect is described as African American, about 6 feet tall, tear tattoo near his left eye, short dreadlock hairstyle, and wearing Carhart brand coat (dark tan) and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Omaha Police Department at 402 444-5847.
