Former Creighton guard spoke to the media, alongside his attorneys, Friday afternoon after his felony sexual assault charges were dropped.
OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - Former Creighton guard Maurice Watson Jr. had his felony sexual charges dropped Friday afternoon.
As part of a plea deal, Watson had his rape charge dropped and plead no contest to misdemeanor third-degree assault.
Watson was sentenced to five days in jail, but did not serve any time because of the time served after his arrest.
"We are pleased this day has come, and that Maurice is a free man who can focus on his future," a release from Watson's attorney's office said.
Watson will not have to register as a sex offender.
