Mayor Jean Stothert has been released from the hospital today following a back injury she sustained Thursday morning while walking her dog.
The mayor is now at home and is resting comfortably, according to mayoral officials.
Her office reports that she "is in good spirits and able to walk with a back brace. She will need to limit physical activity for several weeks."
Mayor Stothert will be working from home for a few days while she recovers. Her weekend and Monday engagements have been canceled, including the Monday Town Hall and the Florence Community Center.
She hopes to return to work by the middle of the week.
