OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Beginning Sunday, Jan. 20, Metro Transit will have a transit center at 68th and Mercy, replacing the Bergan Mercy Transit Center.
In a release, Metro Transit cited the growth in the area as a reason to add commuting options.
“Aksarben Village has become such a thriving district,” said Curt Simon, Metro’s Executive Director. “We’re hoping that even as the area grows, people will take advantage of active transportation so that car traffic doesn’t detract from the area’s appeal.”
The new transit center will offer riders better connections to Aksarben Village, College of St. Mary, UNO, Stinson Park and the Keystone Trail.
